East Ottawa Girls Hockey Association Gears Up for “Kicking Ice in the Capital” Tournament

Dec. 02, 2025

The East Ottawa Girls Hockey Association is thrilled to host this year’s “Kicking Ice in the Capital” tournament at the state-of-the-art Richcraft Sensplex, bringing together talented young athletes from across Ontario, eastern Québec, and upper U.S. for two exciting weekends of competition.

The action begins with the House League Tournament from December 5-7, followed by the Competitive Tournament from December 12-14. Both events promise fast-paced hockey, incredible teamwork, and memorable experiences for players and families alike.

A special thank you goes out to our tournament sponsor, Gummy Gainza protein-packed gummy designed to deliver a sweet hit of energy for athletes on the move. Each team will receive a sample pack to help fuel players both on and off the ice.

Tournament Features

The EO Stars Hockey Tournament offers an exceptional experience for all participating teams, highlighted by:

  • Competitive Division: A four-game minimum with the opportunity to play up to seven games for teams advancing through playoffs.

  • House Division: A three-game minimum with the chance to play up to six games for playoff contenders.

  • Diverse, high-quality competition featuring teams from across Ontario, eastern Québec, and upper U.S.

  • Top-tier prizing awarded to both Champions and Finalists.

  • Player recognition after every game, with “Player of the Game” awards handed out to athletes from both teams.

Giving Back to the Community

In the spirit of community support, the tournament will also be collecting food donations to help local families in need. A donation bin will be located at the front entrance of the Richcraft Sensplex throughout both weekends. Players, families, and spectators are encouraged to contribute non-perishable items and help make a positive impact during the holiday season.

With exciting competition, great sportsmanship, and a commitment to giving back, the “Kicking Ice in the Capital” tournament is set to be another fantastic celebration of girls’ hockey in East Ottawa.
