The East Ottawa (EO) Stars High Performance Teams were established to offer opportunities within the eastern district of Ottawa and area to participate at the highest level of “AA” hockey. More specifically it will appeal to young ladies wanting to play hockey at the very highest level, against national and international competition.
The U22 Junior AA team will be based out of Richcraft Sensplex with a dedicated EO Stars Junior AA change room with personalized booths. They will play 40 league games in the OWHA-U22 Elite League which spans the Ottawa and Toronto regions. The players should plan to travel multiple times throughout the season with multiple away games scheduled on travel weekends.
U15AA and U18AA will play 20 OWHL-Eastern league games in the Ottawa area.
All teams will participate in 5-8 showcase-style tournaments, most of which will be out of town, plus Provincials mid-April if qualify in regional play downs.
Typically, a player can expect up to 2 practices per week and 1-2 sessions off ice for conditioning. There may also be regular team meetings and video review sessions to keep a constant flow of communication between the players and coaches.
Each player will have team fees to cover costs that are not covered by registration fees such as extra ice and tournament fees. Therefore, they may choose to seek sponsors, fundraise, and or collect additional fees from parents. Parents/players cover their own costs associated with travel, accommodations, and food when away from home.
EO Stars team tryouts are typically held in April of each year.
